The 12 Characteristics of BCHK

以賽亞書61:1主耶和華的靈在我身上；因為耶和華用膏膏我，叫我傳好信息給謙卑的人（或譯：傳福音給貧窮的人），差遣我醫好傷心的人，報告被擄的得釋放，被囚的出監牢；2報告耶和華的恩年，和我們神報仇的日子；安慰一切悲哀的人，3賜華冠與錫安悲哀的人，代替灰塵；喜樂油代替悲哀；讚美衣代替憂傷之靈；使他們稱為公義樹，是耶和華所栽的，叫他得榮耀。

After the first Cell Church conference 1996, I submitted myself under the leadership of Pastor Philip. It's a covenantal relationship, he is my spiritual father and I am the spiritual son. He ordained the planting of this church and the beginning of this vision. Roland and team support us all along

  1. 恩群源自星加坡弟兄會 (BCHK is a subsidiary of the Singapore Brethren denomination)
  • The Brethren was started in Singapore by Philip Robinson (founder of Robinson and Company) and a few others in 1864. Philip Robinson was born in England in 1831. He was converted to Christianity at the early age of 14 and came to Singapore in 1857. He started a firm with J. G. Spicer called Spicer and Robinson. But Spicer left not too long afterwards, the firm continued as Robinson and Company, which later became one of the largest commercial enterprises in Singapore. Robinson was not only a successful businessman but both he and his wife Elisa were a devout couple, brought up in the Brethren tradition. He and a few likeminded Christians rented a room at Bencoolen Street and named it the Mission Room, where the gospel could be preached and believers could meet for worship. On 3 July 1864, 7 believers met in that room for a service and thus began the Brethren movement in Singapore. Now there are 16 churches.

  • I gave up striving when the Lord showed me the society's need
  • So I obeyed the Lord by opening a cell group 1997
  • Then I quitted the leadership and relinquished it to the H.S.
  • It took me years to learn how to hear the Holy Spirit
  • He poured His love into me for this fatherless society
  • We always have room for the Holy Spirit to change things, we will not keep doing something for the sake of religion
  1. 恩群是讚美敬拜、愛慕基督的教會 (BCHK is a church that worships and praises God; and is passionate for Christ)
  • I did not have much worship anointing at first. We had to transport keyboard to church at first by taxi every Sunday
  • We used the Mandarin choruses from BC Singapore and we sang them in Cantonese
  • The Lord prepared it for me through Pastor Laszlo, BC-Singapore and FCBC
  • I discovered I was anointed to worship and built up the anointing by doing it with all my heart, mind, strength and will
  • We build up worship leaders and shall have a world class worship band and orchestra
  1. 恩群是十二政制、君王膏沫的教會 (BCHK is built on the Government of 12, and moves under the kingly anointing)
  • the Lord has shown us how He likes to govern His people, through G12
  • we struggled with the old system though we had really smart leaders, but the demand on the cell leaders was high, we had difficulty multiplying
  • we had always had the leper's anointing, the priestly anointing, because BC-Singapore and FCBC were supplying it. Now we are moving into the kingly anointing. We shall pay the price of obedience
  1. 恩群是網絡寬大、國度胸襟的教會 (BCHK has a worldwide network and is kingdom minded)
  • we used to be pretty small and unknown, and the only outside contact we have was BC-Singapore
  • the Lord had prepared us for cross- cultural communications and we have a natural tendency to receive guests and hosts seminars for anointed ministers from overseas.
  • We have never been an inward looking church and we have always been on friendly terms with the Body of Christ, even with the traditional church. The Lord taught us not to criticize or judge any churches or leaders; we bless them all
  • We have established some wonderful friendship with Fuklam, Revival Church, Pastor Laszlo's church, Pastor Daniel Chen, Pastor Ezra Cho, Pastor John Wai, Pastor Kenny Cheung, Pastor Hosea Luk, Christian Communications Ltd. etc.
  1. 恩群是熱愛靈魂、繼𠄘萬國的教會 (BCHK is compassionate for souls and inherits the nations for Christ)
  • that's why we 傳揚福音, not out of achievement drive or duty
  • we love people, we are seeker friendly, we want to compete with the media
  • we serve the community and the nations
  • we will impact many generation to come
  1. 恩群是建立門徒、全民皆僕的教會 (BCHK is a church that builds every member into a disciple and a minister)
  • 全家服侍, the Lord wanted disciples not believers
  • I had never wanted a common church, I am sick and tired of Christians that are not committed, I want both quantity and quality
  • We invest heavily on training and we believe everyone is a minister
  1. 恩群是憐憫罪人、樂善好施的教會 (BCHK shows compassion to all sinners and gives generously)
  • the Lord brings in many sinners that may be frowned on by other parts of the body
  • divorcees, greedy, people bound by addictions, grass root, different culture and habits,
  • since the pastor was a sinner and unworthy, the church is not judgmental, since the , beginning I just could not bring myself to cast out anyone who keeps sinning. I always want to give a second chance
  • we love to give, we gave generously to help renovate this beautiful venue
  1. 恩群是忠於啟示、宣講真理的教會 (BCHK follows divine revelations and proclaims the truth)
  • every move has been directed by revelation – moving to G12, Pastor Deborah to lead the women, doing seminars for churches
  • all of our leaders are taught to hear God's voice and follow
  • we have had the privilege to receive great revelations and insights through the word, this has fueled all our sermons and rhema words and now the sermons are benefits many
  1. 恩群是禁食禱告、屬靈爭戰的教會 (BCHK fasts and prays, and fights the spiritual warfare)
  • Pastor Tan had taught me the value of fasting and we have been practicing it eversince
  • we have always been fighting demons, small and big, we believe the battle is still on even though Christ has won the victory, yet we still have to pay the price
  • we know that people are blinded by the evil one and when we break up his forces, they will be freed
  • new comers will all get a thorough clean up through Encounter and curses cutting
  1. 恩群是醫治釋放、趕鬼治病的教會 (BCHK is a church that moves in healing and deliverance)
  • healing includes mental, physical and inner emotional觸摸心靈
  • right from the start we have been casting out demons
  • though we learnt many lessons and are better at it now, it's still bread and butter ministry to us, the evil one has done such a painstaking job in binding people
  • we have moved from power deliverance to truth encounter
  • we watch people who are broken in spirit nurtured back to health by the Holy Spirit
  1. 恩群是恩慈群體、坦誠交通的教會 (BCHK is made of loving communities that fellowships openly and sincerely)
  • it's in the small groups that we get broken and also healed
  • we have many small groups that are designed to nurture a person's soul and spirit in a community
  • openness is our God-given-characteristic, E.g. Women's Encounter
  • in our cell groups we nurture broken families and mental patients to health
